We regret the passing, on April 11, 2024, of the distinguished Romanian author and critic Dan Cristea, who served as the editor in chief of the Luceafărul de Dimineață cultural monthly. In addition to being an alum of the 1985 Fall Residency, Cristea received his PhD in Comparative Literature at the University of Iowa.

(fiction writer, New Zealand; b. 1969) has already won two awards for his two novels for children. His first book, 2Much4U (1999) received the 1998 Tom Fitzgibbon Award for best children's fiction by a previously unpublished author. He is currently working on a novel for a more adult audience. Scripting, managing, and presenting video productions is Mr. Ford's current occupation. He has previously worked as a Jackaroo on a 400,000 acre Australian property and a laborer in salt mines.
