(1972, fiction writer, Ireland) is the author of Shadow Box (Grove/Bloomsbury Press), which won the Irish Times literary prize for fiction and was short listed for the John Llewellyn-Rhys Award and the Hawthornden Prize. She holds the masters degree from Trinity College in Dublin, and is a freelance journalist and literary critic for the Guardian, the Times, the Scotsman, the Irish Times, and the Sunday Independent. She is taking part in the IWP through support from the University of Iowa.
