Gregory NORMINTON (b. 1976, Ascot) is the author of The Ship of Fools (2002, Sceptre), which he also helped translate into French. He holds a BA from Oxford University in English Language and Literature as well as a classical acting degree from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. His awards include a Writer's Award from the Arts Council of England in 2003, and a BBC "Making Waves" award at the Brighton Festival in 2000. He has acted on television and written plays for radio. His new novel, Arts and Wonders, will be published in 2004.

Mimi KHALVATI was born in Tehran and grew up on the Isle of Wight. Her poetry collections include Mirrorwork (1995), which received an Arts Council Writers' Award, Selected Poems (2000), and The Chine (2002). Active as an actor and director in both the UK and Iran, she has founded Matrix, a women's experimental theatre group, and co-founded Theatre in Exile. She is also the founder of the Poetry School in London. She participates courtesy of the William B. Quarton International Writing Program Scholarship.

Laura FISH has over a decade’s experience in broadcast television and radio, working for the BBC in news, current affairs, light entertainment and on documentaries. She has held posts as a Creative Writing tutor at St. Andrews University; the University of Western Cape, South Africa and the University of East Anglia. She is the author of the novels Flight of Black Swans (1995) and Strange Music (2008), which was listed for the 2009 Orange Prize, and nominated for the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award.
