Mirsad SIJARIĆ ( poet; Bosnia and Herzegovina, b. 1970, Sarajevo) received a degree in history from Sarajevo University, as well a post-graduate degree in archaeology from the University in Zagreb, Croatia. He currently works as an archaeologist at Sarajevo's National Museum, specializing in the Bosnian Mediaeval period.
Nihad HASANOVIC is currently finishing his studies in French language and literature in Sarajevo. He has translated French novels by Rachid Mimouni and Kenize Mourad, and written a short story collection to be published later this year. He has also written plays—Podigni visoko baklju (Raise your torch!, 1996), and the prize-winning Zaista? (Really?, 2001) which was broadcast on Bosnian National Radio.. On 5/24/20, the US Embassy in Moscow celebrated Joseph Brodsky's 80th birthday with a collage of American poets reading his birthday poem "May 24, 1980" in the poet's self-translation. Chris Merrill, one of Brodsky's students, is among the readers.
