Reflections on BTL

That night we danced till 12

Strangers on planes

Layovers and airport gates

Awkward moves and aching limbs.

I thought we dropped together-

Because we were

Unsynchronized symphonies of

An out of tune piano.

I remember fortnights and study groups

Where we danced blues.

For constellations at our feet

And cheap sunglasses.

I killed myself in Frisbee.

I survived.

Did we though?

Paddling through

Murky waters of bounded love

Across oblivions

We told tales of lost homelands.

I watched the sun set

Over the river rolling south

Watched you and I

Become louder than

Ink or tears or death.
