Dhari BUYABES (fiction writer; Kuwait) holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Graduate Diploma in Comparative Literature from Kuwait University. His debut novel, What’s wrong with Faris?, was a local best-seller in Kuwait, launching Dhari’s literary career. Since then he has appeared on national and local television and radio stations. He has also given lectures, seminars, and workshops at local universities. In 2013, Dhari was nominated by the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait to participate in the University of Iowa’s International Writing Program (IWP), where he chaperoned students ages 16-19 coming to Iowa City, Iowa for Between the Lines, a creative writing and cultural exchange program. Currently, Dhari is working on his second novel, After the Good Days.
