91st Meridian

The Fall 2011 edition of 91st Meridian, an electronic publication of the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa, in Iowa City (41° 38' N /91° 33' W).

The IWP is now accepting applications for Between the Lines 2012. For the first time, there will be two sessions: BTL Russia (June 30-July 13) and BTL Arabic (July 14-28). Also for the first time, American students, aged 16-19, are invited to apply.

In 2009, the International Writing Program and the Chinese Writers' Association began a pilot exchange project, the Life of Discovery. The project’s aim is to bring together writers and artists from the United States and from the minority ethnic communities in the western regions of the People's Republic of China.

The IWP’s Distance Learning Creative Writing Program

As the IWP’s distance learning initiative, the DLCWP seeks to maintain a visible, ongoing, and active IWP presence in the world. Programs are ongoing all year long, deepening existing connections and welcoming new collaborators.
