International Writing Program ICPL Panel: Reflections on Trauma in Writing

International Writing Program ICPL Panel: Reflections on Trauma in Writing promotional image

Many of this year’s Fall Residency participants have experienced monumental historical shifts in their home countries throughout their lifetime. Can one writer truly express the collective trauma of an entire country? These essays reflect personal journeys of generational and experienced trauma, and how writing has aided them in processing their experiences.

The IWP Friday Panel Discussion series provides an opportunity for the residents of Iowa City to meet and converse with writers from around the world who are the Fall 2025 Writers in Residence at the University of Iowa International Writing Program.

The series is sponsored by The UI International Writing Program and The Iowa City Public Library.

This event is live and in-person, and will be streamed live on the ICPL YouTube channel at: https://www.youtube.com/thelibrarychannel
