Julieta Rangel Gómez was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. In 2005, at the age of seven, her family moved to Iowa City, and she has been here since. Julieta holds a B.A. in English from the University of Iowa and has been with IWP since June of 2024. While she enjoys writing poetry, bird watching is what brings her the most joy. She currently serves as the IWP's Fall Residency Coordinator.
