represented the Second District of Iowa in the U.S. Congress from 1977 to 2007. He is currently on the faculty of the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, serving as the John L. Weinberg/Goldman Sachs and Co. Visiting Professor of Public and International Affairs. Recently he was named the interim director of the Institute of Politics at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
